The Avengers were defeated. Thanos, the mad titan, had beaten them despite all their powers combined against them. After collecting all of the six infinity stones Thanos had obtained the greatest power in the universe and with a snap of his fingers he attempted to wipe out half the life in the universe, but that wasn't what happened. Instead of half of all life being destroyed some higher authority, above the infinity stones themselves, decided to level the playing field and introduced beings from an entirely separate reality. Some of these beings would be heroes, others would be villains but most importantly Thanos had failed...at least for the moment. Retreating in confusion the mad titan had ceased to be a threat for the moment for now he is aware of something else on the horizon, something that might challenge him.
